Group Policy Result : An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

0

When running a Group Policy Result of a remote system the GPMC admin console shows this error :

GPMC-01

“An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.”

GPMC-02

When running a GPresult from command prompt to a remote system this error appeared :

“gpresult ERROR: Invalid pointer”

The solution :

In the preferences I was creating an extra local administrator user.

GPMC-03

Changing the option from create to update fixed the problem.

GPMC-04

GPMC-05

After changing the setting from create to update,
then a GPupdate / force on the remote system and I was able to query via GPMC the remote system for a Group Policy result.

This must be some sort of  “extra feauture”.

In my case a GPO was set :

“Disable Automatic Install of Internet Explorer components.”

After changing the setting to not configured, then a GPupdate / force on the remote system and I was able to query via GPMC the remote system for a Group Policy result.

I also re-edited the preferences, just openened en clicked OK again.

and edited the GPO restrict unauthenticated RPC clients

Move Netscaler VPX to a new VMware ESXi cluster

0

Best way to move a Netscaler VPX from one ESXi host to another one is by exporting to OVF template and at the new ESXi host to deploy this OVF template.

This can pnly be done when the VPX is shutdown.
VPX completely shutdown can be done frome the CLI with the shutdwon command.

Netscaler VPX Citrix Access Gateway Universal license is bound to the hostname.
Netscaler VPX Express license is bound to the MAC (the 5 MB version).
