Cannot log on after changing keyboard settings

  1. Run Registry Editor (REGEDT32.exe).
  2. From the HKEY_USERS subtree, go to the following key:
    \.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload
  3. Change the value for the following entry to contain the keyboard layout that you want to have avilable at logon. This example would set the default keyboard layout to Japanese:
    \.DEFAULT\Keyboard Layout\Preload
    “1” REG_SZ = “0411”

 

The default settings in HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT are also used when you define a new user.

Exchange 2010 – Reseed the Search Catalog

Error in the Exchange event viewer is similar like :

At <timestamp> the Microsoft Exchange Information Store Database <identity> copy on this server experienced a corrupted search catalog. Consult the event log on the server for other “ExchangeStoreDb” and “MSExchange Search Indexer” events for more specific information about the failure. Reseeding the catalog is recommended via the ‘Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy’ task.

Reseed the catalog from any server
Start exchange management shell :

Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity “databasename\servername” -CatalogOnly

or

reseed the catalog from a specific server

Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy -Identity DB1\MBX1 -SourceServer MBX2 -CatalogOnly
